Slide into a roll, slice in pasta, or top on a pizza, our flavoursome meat-free sausages are versatile, punchy and will perk up any dish.
“Right from the very start, when we began making burgers and sausages in our home kitchen, we have always sourced the best ingredients and worked hard to perfect our recipes. We were, after all, making food for our own family. Things are no different now. We still apply the same principles when buying our ingredients, because now our grandchildren are eating our products. And what we wouldn’t feed to our own grandchildren, we wouldn’t feed to you, our friends”
- Debbie Fry
All the ingredients used in our products are completely Non-Genetically Modified, MSG Free, Preservative free and vegan.
We import all of our soy to ensure that it is 100% NON-GMO. This status is verified by an independent auditing firm. This is very important to us as a family so we take a very strong stance on this. We have also tested our food for herbicides and pesticides, and have found no traces of any herbicides or pesticides.
Our ethos at Fry’s is a holistic one, and we believe that the health of the animals, the planet and our customers are intrinsically linked. We are passionate about helping our customers transition to a more plant-based diet because we believe that as well as being better for the planet, a reduction in animal products is better for human health. A diet that consists of too many additives, refined sugar and salt is most definitely not healthy, but we also believe that animal fats are equally detrimental and that it is about finding balance.
That being said, we completely understand that some customers have specialised requirements and in the cases of customers with special health needs, we like to encourage them to consult their healthcare practitioners before making new food choices.
Ever wondered how we turn plants into tender, juicy meat alternatives? Have a look at our ingredients to find out what we put in our food to create our plant-based magic.
Soybeans • Wheat • Rice • Quinoa • Chia Seeds
We use a variety of plant proteins to ensure that our products deliver similar levels of protein when compared to their animal-based counterparts. We believe that NON-GM soybeans are a great protein source because they are a complete protein. To find out more about soy
Soy has links to more healthful cholesterol levels, which can help lower the risk of heart disease. The isoflavones in soy can help reduce the risk of hormone associated cancers, including prostate cancer and some breast cancers. Soy isoflavones may also reduce the risk of diabetes. Our soy is not sourced from land that causes deforestation. As a family committed to making a difference in the world, we promise that we take ingredient sourcing very seriously and use ingredients that align with our personal values.
Studies indicate that components of wheat bran may function as prebiotics, feeding some of the beneficial bacteria in your gut.
Rice is an excellent source of vitamins and minerals like niacin, vitamin D, calcium, fibre, iron, thiamine, and riboflavin. These vitamins provide the foundation for the body’s metabolism, immune system, and general functioning of the organs
The proteins in quinoa offer a wide range of amino acids. Amino acids are vital for supporting muscle development and immune activity, among other essential functions.
Chia Seeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, protein, antioxidants, and they provide fibre, iron, and calcium. Omega-3 fatty acids help raise HDL cholesterol, the “good” cholesterol that protects against heart attack and stroke.
Sunflower Oil • Flaxseed oil • Coconut Oil • Palm Oil
Our fats are what make our food irresistibly juicy, all with less saturated fat than their animal counterparts and without the cholesterol.
Sunflower oil contains more than 80% of monounsaturated fats which makes it good for your heart. The impressive fatty acid content in sunflower oil helps in maintaining a balance in your body. Furthermore, it does not contain any saturated fats which help in controlling the cholesterol levels in your body.
Because flaxseed oil contains omega-3 fatty acids, it reduces inflammation in the body.
Coconut oil has antibacterial properties and can reduce candida, fight bacteria, and create a hostile environment for viruses. Almost half of the fat in coconut is lauric acid, which helps destroy active bacteria in the stomach and mouth.
Palm oil is obtained from the fruit of the oil palm tree. Palm oil is used for preventing vitamin A deficiency, cancer, brain disease; and treating malaria, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and cyanide poisoning. Palm oil is also used for weight loss and increasing the body's metabolism.
We understand that palm oil is a contentious issue among many people, so palm oil is used in the pastry in our Pies and Sausage Rolls and not in any of our other products. The palm oil we do use is RSPO certified – segregated sustainable. This means it is not being produced in previously forested areas so the production of this palm oil is not adding to deforestation and the destruction of animal habitats. It is also traceable to the field in which it is grown. In addition, our ingredients do not come from deforested areas.
Potato Starch • Maize Starch
Our blend of carbohydrates provide the right amount of texture so you can enjoy every bite
Potato Starch falls into the category of resistant starch foods. As a resistant starch, potato starch has been shown to be helpful to blood sugar regulation.
We use maize starch mainly for the texture it adds to our food. It is used to get the chewiness which is usually offered by animal-derived gums.
We use Methyl Cellulose, which is taken from vegetable cellulose through heating. It keeps all our food together. Without it, our food would just be mush
Fresh Herbs • Fresh Vegetables • Tomato • Onion • Mustard • Colourings and Flavour Enhancers
We use flavours that are MSG-free to craft our meaty taste, without using any GMOs. All our fresh ingredients are locally and sustainably sourced.
Instead of using harmful flavours, we predominantly use fresh herbs and spices to make our food mouth-wateringly tasty.
We use a blend of locally sourced fresh vegetables to add colour and flavour to our food.
Tomato gives our food a richer colour and it’s a great source of vitamin C, potassium, folate, and vitamin K.
We do not add any harmful preservatives or artificial flavour enhancers to our products. Onion and garlic give our products a natural flavour boost.
We use dried seaweed in our food to give our fish-style products an authentic flavour. We make sure that our seaweed is sourced sustainably.
Mustard adds a tangy taste to our food that brings out our food’s natural flavour.
We add a few functional ingredients into some of our food, because to be honest, it needs to taste incredible! Without them, our food simply wouldn’t be as delicious as it is. We don’t want people to compromise on taste to get something ethically made, home created and 100% vegan. We do want people to stop eating meat. Our work is always a work in progress, so we are happy to take your suggestions!
