Traditional Sausage and Lentil Chilli Hotpot

Recipe developed by our friends at Wonderbag. A hearty, rich, savoury dish, with the richness of Fry’s Traditional Sausages. Great for a winter lunch or dinner!

Ingredients
 8 Fry’s Traditional Sausages
 30 ml cooking oil
 1 ½ onions, finely chopped
 3 cloves garlic, chopped
 1 red bell pepper, chopped
 3 chillies, chopped
 2 400g tins lentils, drained
 300 ml tomato paste
 45 ml brown sugar
 15 ml salt
 15 ml coarse black pepper
 45 ml chopped coriander

Heat the oil in a medium sized pot and fry the Fry’s Traditional Sausages until browned. Remove and set aside a bowl.

Place the onion, garlic and red pepper in the same pot and fry until lightly browned. Add all the remaining ingredients and the sausages, bring the pot to the boil with the lid on for 7 Minutes

Place tea towel inside your Wonderbag. Then take your hot pot from the stove and place into your Wonderbag. Place the Wonderbag lid on top of the pot and pull the toggle to tightly seal and leave to cook for 120 Minutes

Serve with crusty bread, pap, rice or delicious savoury mash.
